My first time trying Delta 8 Review

Previous to this, I had never tried Delta 8 before and although I had heard of it, I knew very little about it. All I had seen was the name ‘Delta 8’ pop up on the odd few cannabis blogs.

I happened to find myself blessed with the chance to try Delta 8 after winning a giveaway hosted by @bensmokesss on Instagram. Although I had won, I hadn’t heard much about this cannabinoid before so I needed to do my own research before consuming any.

Delta 8 has a similar chemical structure to Delta 9, which we commonly know and refer to as THC. Therefore because of its similarities, Delta 8 is not yet approved as safe for consumption by the FSA in the UK and is not legal in the UK.

But although both of these chemical compounds are psycho-active, Delta 8 produces a milder and calmer high compared to the more intense high produced from Delta 9 (THC).

Therefore Delta-8 is more suited to beginners or those who don’t enjoy the overwhelming effects from Delta 9 (THC).

As someone who has smoked a few Delta 9 (THC) vape carts, I was intrigued to see the effects that a Delta 8 vape cart would provide me with. I'm already big advocate of vape's as its one of more healthier ways to inhale cannabis, is discreet and is easy to transport.

I was recommended by Ben to not consume any Delta 9 (THC) the day I tried the Delta 8 vape to help ensure I experienced the full effects. This is advice is good to apply when it comes to trying any new substance.

If you do want to try Delta-8 for yourself I recommend picking up the delta-8 vape cart I talk about in this review which is from @gotloud.uk and @Pengking.Extracts who you can find via the Instagram links below ⬇️

What is Delta 8?

Delta-8 is made by converting Cannabidiol (CBD) or Delta-9 (THC) into Delta-8. It has a similar chemical structure to Delta-9 and produces similar but less intense effects.

As with all other cannabinoids, Delta-8 is under preliminary research for its biological properties as scientists aren’t 100% certain of any potential side effects and risks, so it’s important to ensure you do your own research before consuming any Delta 8.

Unlike other cannabinoids however there is a ton of controversy surrounding Delta 8 as it’s a synthetically produced product, which means it has to be man-made. It doesn’t grow naturally in large quantities naturally and has to be converted using a process called iszomisation.

A big concern is that because it’s being synthetically produced you might not know everything that is in it.

In an article published in the journal of Chemical and Engineering news, products containing delta-8 may also contain Delta-10 which is another cannabinoid which we know little about. However just because we don’t yet know about these products and the benefits/risks doesn’t mean that they are bad for us.

In fact, Experts say that these cannabinoids probably won’t produce ill effects and we have now started to prove this through research and studies.

Features, Pro’s and Con’s of Delta 8

Have you ever been somewhere where it’s impossible to smoke THC, such as at work? Well that’s where I found that the Delta-8 vape cart solves two problems in one.

Firstly, it provides a much milder high which stops you from getting ‘too stoned’. This is perfect to consume whilst on a lunch time break as it will allow you to still be able to concentrate when you return to work.

Secondly, the smell super discreet so nobody will have a clue that you’re consuming. You could even stand in the smoking shelter with the other nicotine vapers (just don’t let anyone try your vape)

As mentioned above, there is little research done into Delta-8 which means we are not fully confident on its risk and benefits but this cannabis compound is not a recent discovery. It was first discovered 80 years ago in 1965. Unfortunately the research was halted in 1970 due to cannabis prohibition. Only within the last year or so have we restarted research into this cannabinoid.

My experience trying Delta 8

As the title of this review states this is my first time ever trying Delta-8 and I was super excited to have the chance to try out this new cannabinoid and how it would make me feel.

This new, novelty cannabinoid has so far only been sampled by a number of people in the world and I’m luckily enough to be included in this group.

The vape cart and battery were provided by @bensmokesss on Instagram via his giveaway I won and he also writes brilliant reviews on CBD products. I’ve linked below for you to go check out his page ⬇️

So, as recommended by ben and as I would when trying any new substance I ensured I hadn’t consumed any Delta-9 (THC) before consuming the Delta-8 vape to ensure I felt the full effects of this cannabinoid. As a daily smoker realistically its difficult to remove all of the THC that is in my system but I did ensure not to consume any THC the day of consuming Delta-8.

As Ive found with most shatter/dab carts you need to take a long deep toke to ensure you get a beneficial amount and a aesthetic amount of smoke.

The profile of the vape, which is lemon and cherry runtz was beautiful. The cart lasted a decent amount of time for the amount that was in there which I believe was 1g. I was only toking throughout the day, maybe around 2/3 puffs an hour but it lasted me around 3 days.

Out of respect for those who don’t appreciate the smell of cannabis there are certain places you find you are unable to smoke cannabis. That’s where vape carts come in handy (both Delta 8 and Delta 9).

One of my favourite factors of this vape was that I was easily able to walk down the high-street and around town without anyone turning their head or having any idea I was consuming a psycho-active substance.

Did I feel any effects?

I did feel slightly stoned. It was a mild underlying stoned feeling which made me feel relaxed. I actually really liked consuming this throughout the day as I still felt motivated to be productive throughout the day. It also made my smoke of Delta-9 (THC) in the evening much more enjoyable and effective.

I’ve used this vape throughout the day for the last 3 days and have found that I have stopped consuming so much Delta 9 (THC). I’ve also felt much more motivated during the days. This has opened my eyes to potentially consuming Delta-8 throughout the day and Delta-9 during the evening.

are discreet and don’t produce any smell of cannabis. Which means you can consume cannabis in public places where others can consume tobacco or normal vapes.
